At the core of the DMP machining department are four, high-technology, CNC 3-axis vertical machining centers with a variety of cost-saving features. A pallet loader that enables the material to advance continually which reduces material handling and a probe detector that will detect a broken tool and replace it virtually without missing a stroke. Maximum travel distance is 80"(X) x 30"(Y) x 30"(Z).

The 21 position tool turret head is common to all four machines and will accept tools of different sizes as required. In addition, it permits milling on three axes...X, Y, and Z. This flexibility offers options such as holes and threads of most sizes, cut-outs and the ability to generate a radius on the inside and/or the outside.

Materials worked include, but are not limited to: hot and cold rolled steel, aluminum, Inconel, copper, stainless steel and other non-ferrous materials. These machines can accommodate material in sheet, various structural shapes and a wide range of sizes.

The FADAL machining centers use metric measurements and can automatically convert to decimal measurements and vice-versa. The machines can also engrave alphanumeric and other graphic identification symbols. In-house programming is done with the Geo-Path CAD/CAM system.

DMP has established special processes to counteract mill tolerances. This requires a variety of procedures, including the design and manufacturing of custom jigs and fixtures which, when completed, allow us to work from a surface that we know to be true. These processes combined with the skills of our programmers, machinists and machine operators allow us to obtain optimum results.
