Our phosphatizing wash room is literally big enough to wash an elephant

As in any successful undertaking, the steps and effort taken in preparation affect the quality of the end result. This is of primary concern in the processes of powder coating and painting. Parts must be properly prepared for maximum adhesion and conformity to customer specifications. This preparation may include processes such as masking, filling, degreasing, sand or other media blasting or a phosphatizing wash. To assure the proper application of powder or paint it is also important that the appropriate equipment and coating techniques are used. Oven curing is also an element of the coating process.

Due to the insulating effects of certain powder coating materials and processes, DMP has received U.L. approval for some of our coated products such as bus bars for example. Also, because some of our frames and assemblies are so large, we have designed and built a wash room which is 7’8" wide x 10’6" high x 23’ deep. Literally, the room is big enough to wash an elephant. But, we’re not into elephants, we’re into efficient cleaning and de-greasing prior to powder coating and painting.

Particular advantages that we have are: adequate floor area, material handling hoists, lines for hanging parts and mobile racks, all of which increase the efficiency of our production processes and provide reduced costs to our customers.

We understand that powder coating will not satisfy all requirements, so paint is offered as an alternative. Having these processes in-house offers us better control and accordingly improves our ability to respond to your special, and sometimes, urgent needs.
